As in any large city, the need for services to assist the needs of the homeless exists in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The non-profit organization “Fondita de Jesus” approached Hernandez & Alayón to join their team of professionals in order to create the temporary housing & orientation facilities for homeless individuals in San Juan. The result was the conversion of an existing building to a homeless center with1 bedroom apartments, library facilities,“soup kitchen” and administration offices. Since 1995, this Pueblito de Jesus has been operating successfully as an important center for the homeless and the community.
