Jesus A.  Vizcarrondo Middle School was one of the educational facilities constructed under the “School Boom 2000” program of the Puerto Rico educational system.  The school campus is situated on approximately 5.5 acres of property and consists of 43 classrooms, gymnasium, library, cafeteria, comunity meeting area among others.  The school was designed with a tropical layout that utilizes an interior patio to provide cross ventilation throughout the school’s facilities.  It was given the Outstanding Building award for Middle Schools of 2005 by School & University magazine.
